Polyphen® fire-resistant foam is a combination environmental Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and Phenolic foam, combining the best qualities of each medium.
EPS is renowned for its strong mechanical properties, thermal insulation, ease of use and ability to be formed. Phenolic foam, although brittle and difficult to work has exceptional fire resistant properties.
The finished product is rigid foam made from a matrix of EPS and Phenolic resin. It is lightweight, easy to cut and has a surface that is not fibrous or brittle.
Almost any shape can be produced using standard cutting equipment, such as computerised abrasive wire cutters.
